Drink Driving

Drink Driving

Finding the best drink driving programme can be overwhelming if you are not sure what to look for. With multiple options available online, narrowing down your search is often a daunting task.

Drug Recovery

Drug Recovery

Drug addiction and dependency is a complex neurobiological disorder that calls for a holistic recovery therapy focusing on the body, mind, and spirit. When someone is addicted to drugs, they may experience cycles of mild and intense use.

Residential

Residential

Finding reputable residential treatment programmes can be difficult without the proper guidance. There are hundreds of options online for the best residential rehab centre and distinguishing one from the other isn’t always straightforward.

Sober Living

Sober Living

Alcohol and drug addiction can cause serious disruptions to your life and while it can seem like a tumultuous road to recovery, taking the first step towards living sober in NZ is essential.

Social Detox

Social Detox

Drug and substance addiction can destabilize and destroy the lives of those affected. Whether it’s the person with a drug use disorder or people close to him, living with an addiction can be devastating.

Alcoholic in recovery

Having suffered from a long history of Alcoholism, I finally admitted I was powerless and booked myself in for a 30 day programme at The Retreat NZ in 2015. I spent my time at The Retreat with a small group of like minded people who were beginning their recovery journey too, and who had stories similar to my own. It was immense relief to be able to discuss my struggles with drinking with people who had first hand experience of my disease and understood it’s destructive nature.

Eddie

“P” addict in recovery

I knew it was important to put time and patience into my recovery and it took time to become familiar with this new way of life. Every step of the way The Retreat has helped and supported me with everything I have done. From a court case, to regaining my confidence, attending meetings regularly, getting a sponsor, to helping others, they have helped me go from a person with no direction to a well person who is achieving their goals one day at a time.

Will

Mother of alcoholic in recovery

I first came to a Family Meeting on a Sunday at The Retreat in early May this year. Initially, I was struck at how similar other families’ stories were to my own – it was a revelation to realise just how whole families around the alcoholic or drug user become very sick themselves, particularly with their spirituality and thinking. I began to see how subtle and patient the process is. Over time a new normal is created so it is hard to see the problem.
