The New Zealand Retreat: Application for Residence
PROCEDURES:
“Guest” applicants are screened by professional staff to determine their appropriateness for Retreat services – normally a 30-day resident programme. Anonymity is the key word and all information remains confidential. Notification of staff decisions occurs quickly: usually within hours of an interview and always within 48 hours. Admission is subject to prospective guests demonstrating their ability and willingness to meet the full costs of the Retreat Programme. Individuals admitted to the programme while under the care of a medical of psychological professional may continue that treatment when appropriate. If required, detoxification, medical care and psychological services are available to guests through a network of qualified community providers.
Applicants not qualified for Retreat services are provided with a list of alternatives and assisted with programme placement.
